Custom Training Plans....

I want your triathlon experience to be a
success. First do the distance, then do it
faster. Be organized, confident and enjoy the
thrill of the race.

I only coach what is within the realm of my
own experience. That means that if you are
fast and strong enough to try out for the
Olympics-I can't help you. In fact, if you
expect your coach to be a champion, I'm not
for you either. If you are new to the sport,
new to a particular distance or just starting to
work on your speed, then I can help to you
very much.

Despite what you see in the magazines,
triathletes come in all shapes, sizes and ages.
A canned training plan probably won't fit you
or your life very well. I design a training plan
for you from scratch. It takes me a few days,
but it is worth it.

Your plan will have specific, time-based
workouts based on your heart rate zones or
level of exertion. You can mix the workout
days as you wish so they work with your
schedule.

I can create a training plan for up to 6
months, or a short one for 6 weeks or less.
Depending on your needs, we can
communicate weekly, monthly or as needed
only.

My training plans also include a strength
training plan designed by an exercise
physiologist and Physical Therapist, Jim
Herkimer of Sports Conditioning and
Rehabilitation in Orange, CA.

The strength training should be done twice a
week and for many it is the most challenging
part of the plan. But the strength work pays
off in fewer injuries and faster race times so it
is worth the investment in time.

Weight Loss.....

I have been an overweight endurance
athlete my entire life. 6 years ago I finally
figured it out and have successfully
maintained a 45 pound weight loss since
that time.
See my photos.

I am registered at the National Weight
Control Registry as a successful weight
loser. Only 20% of overweight individuals
are successful at long-term weight loss,
so this is a significant accomplishment.

I was among 150 trainers selected from a
nationwide pool to work with
WeightWatchers and Active.com in their
Momentum Walk-it Challenge. As the
Orange County Team Leader, I helped
my team reach their weight loss goals.

Now I help athletes that want to lose
weight. Many of them have reached a
plateau and are frustrated. I teach them
how to move forward again so they can
reach and maintain their goal weight.
Fearless Swimming...

At 16, I became the first female to guard an
ocean (surf) beach in the City of Laguna
Beach, California.  I was a freestyler in high
school but what set me apart was not my
speed, it was my work ethic and ocean
skills. Back then women spent their days
putting suntan lotion on, not riding waves.
In becoming a lifeguard I competed
head-to-head with men utlilizing the very
skills that triathletes need to be effective in
the water.

I don't only help triathletes though. Many
they could swim better and I help them too.

Some of my clients have had traumatic
experiences related to swimming that have
kept them from enjoying the water.
Sometimes my students want to learn more
about
Total Immersion techniques and
often, they want to get faster and more
efficient in the water.

Whether you are a fearful non-swimmer, an
inefficient swimmer or a triathlete, I can
help you be more confident and effective in
any kind of water- pool, lake or ocean.
